Sleep Center: The Neurological exam

The Neurological Exam

Thanks to new miniaturized technology, the sleep center at Clinique La Prairie is one of the few sleep medicine units able to record sleep when you are at home using the Holter polysomnographic EEG. Paired with a clock, it records the patient's position at all times, throughout the recording of sleep.

The exam lasts 24 hours, with the application of electrodes in the afternoon. If the patient experiences daytime sleepiness, he/she will be accompanied for a driving exam on the highway. The rest of the examination takes place at home, and electrodes are removed the next morning.

One week later, the patient and his/her attending physician receive a diagnosis and therapeutic proposal, set out by a doctor, following a computer analysis of the results.
