Innovation & Research

A healthier, longer and better life

For more than 85 years, Clinique La Prairie has stood as a pioneering force of innovative medical research, regenerative medicine and longevity. Discover our innovations to help people living a healthier, better and longer lives.

Cellular Therapy

Improving your quality of life is at the heart of Clinique La Prairie’s mission with the Revitalization program. The program’s philosophy, offered since 1931, is based on the method developed by Doctor Paul Niehans and aims at increasing the overall health and energy of the body. Enhanced over the years with expert scientists, the essential element of our renowned cellular therapy since 1992 has become a standardized and lyophilized sheep’s liver extract called the “CLP Extract”,

Taken orally in conjunction with a bio stimulant injection, the CLP Extract is effective at different levels.

At a cellular level, it supplies tissues with oxygen which promotes cellular turnover, helping poor circulation and reducing skin aging. Completed with nutrition, medical tests, fitness coaching and SPA therapies, Revitalization is a unique approach to wellness, and help patients feel energized and vitalized.

Genetics

Genetics

As good aging depends both on genetic capital and environmental factors, Clinique La Prairie has integrated Genetics tests in its programs like Revitalisation, Master Detox and Weight Management. Performed in collaboration with Swiss laboratories dedicated to personalized medicine, these unique tests establish a predictive diagnosis and give patients a very complete genetic evaluation, ultimately providing professional recommendations for treatment, preventive care and better lifestyle.

Epigenetics

epigenetics

In keeping with its desire to constantly innovate, Clinique La Prairie, introduced, since February 2021, a new epigenetic assessment into its range of diagnostics and personalized medicine, to add a measure of the influence of the environment and lifestyle on gene expression.

Stem Cells

Stem Cells

Since 2019, Clinique La Prairie has introduced a Stem-cell program to reinforce anti-aging solutions. Stem Cell treatment helps replace degenerating cells by renewing natural collagen and enhancing tissue regeneration to decrease visible signs of aging, keep your skin healthy and young. The related program begins with a thorough medical checkup and consultation with Clinique La Prairie’s surgeon specialist. Throughout the process stem cells are extracted from fat, purified and stored to then be injected back into the body on the last day of the treatment.

Ongoing Anti-Aging and Life Sciences

Ongoing Anti-Aging and Life Sciences

As science develops and technological advancements transform healthcare, Clinique La Prairie engages continuously with a range of research in the anti-aging, medical and lifescience fields, further building its leading position in preventative medicine and holistic wellness.

CLP Holistic Complex

CLP Holistic Complex

Launched by Clinique La Prairie in 2021, Holistic Health supplements are about thoroughly science-backed solutions.

A lifescience study about the CLP Holistic Complex (core component of each Holistic Health supplement) shows that it has beneficial effects by decreasing the rate of telomere shortening and preserving telomere length under normal conditions, thus contributing to longevity. The CLP Holistic Complex was tested on human cells (primary fibroblasts) to investigate its effect on telomere length. In this eight-week-long expansion study, the laboratory analyzed how different doses of the complex simulate the aging process that cells undergo for more extended periods.

New collaboration with Biopôle

 New collaboration with Biopôle

Clinique La Prairie announces its partnership with Biopôle Lausanne, a leading Swiss life sciences campus, boosting a ecosystem that harnesses a large diversity of clinical and academic research.  The clinic has continuously evolved since 1931 to become a multidisciplinary, expert-led medical facility that specialised in providing world-class preventative medicine, based on cutting-edge science. Recent innovations included DNA tests, nutrigenomics and dietary elements forming part of the clinic’s leading programmes. Through the collaboration with the Biopôle Lausanne, Clinique La Prairie aims at accelerating its research and development in the field of life sciences, continuing to be at the fore-front of health, disease-prevention therapies and nutritional science.

CLP Lifescience Committee

Science Committee

Clinique La Prairie is regarded as a leading destination for people seeking improved health and longer lives through the result of nine decades of scientific research and clinical experience.

Science has been part and parcel of Clinique La Prairie since its inception. Its foundations are based on the work of Dr Paul Niehans, a pioneer in cell therapy, followed by that of a team of internationally renowned scientists who have contributed to the research with a special focus on the Revitalisation program. For over 20 years, Prof. Ernst Theodor Rietschel, has been heading Clinique La Prairie’s scientific committee, collaborating with international experts and clinicians in the fields of research medicine and biosciences.

The international Scientific Advisory Board is composed of the most expert researchers and clinicians, as well as advisers among the finest in their respective fields. Their research has contributed to developing refined and purified formula containing only biologically active substances for the CLP Extract, the essential element administered nowadays orally under the Revitalisation program at the clinic. The proprietary CLP Extract is only available at Clinique La Prairie in Montreux.

Our scientific research. now includes the fields of lifescience, drawing upon a team of specialists in various fields related to medicine, nutrition, biochemistry, immunology, genetics, pharmacology and, more recently, nutrigenomics. The areas of interest focus in particular on innovative nutraceuticals, genetics, epigenetics and immunostimulatory therapy. Several products have recently been launched at Clinique La Prairie to optimize nutritional support, and research projects continue in an effort to determine how these innovations can be used to promote longevity and to contribute to diverse prevention therapies.

They work together as a whole to promote energy production and cellular growth. Handpicked doctors and therapists personally oversee the philosophy and science behind our programs. We strive for perfection every day, for the highest level of detail, offering the most exclusive experience.

nutrition

Good nutrition promotes healthy aging by reinforcing your immune system, by protecting your brain, by playing a role in building your muscles, and by feeding your skin, joints and vessels.

MOVEMENT: Exercise builds muscle cells which lead to more energy.

MOVEMENT

Keeping moving helps lower stress levels, increases cognitive and mental abilities, and reverses age-related muscle loss of strength and power.

WELLBEING: Watch your interior life, be mindful, feel good about yourself.

WELLBEING

Relax and recharge to reduce stress. It will protect your cells, renew your energy and give space to your brain to focus properly.

The food here is spectacular. And such an education in neuro-protective eating, in how we all need to ‘detox’ (useless word – better to say: encourage liver in essential functions without which premature aging), in particular if you live in a city, or are older than 30.

Today, Clinique La Prairie's assembly of experts is essential to this achievement. Day 1 of all our programs is devoted to a medical consultation and a variety of tests that will enable our doctors and specialists to analyze what’s going wrong and create a personalized program. Medical care and Wellness are the cornerstones of health: they work together to build our bodies from our cells up. Throughout the stay, the SPA therapies contribute to renewing energy and body. Eventually, tests, doctors’ advice and well-being learning become the blueprints for our guests’ lives.

Since 1931, our exclusive clientele has come to Montreux to experience this pioneering fusion of science and holistic wellness, combined with luxury Swiss hospitality.
