Periodontal illnesses are bacterial infections which infect and destroy the periodontium, elements surrounding the teeth, such as the gums, attachment fibers (ligaments or periodontal ligaments), and the bones, which support the teeth.
To treat these infectious diseases, we used two types of treatment.
Performed by our specialized dental hygienists, this first stage consists in informing the patient, teaching brushing techniques and recommending appropriate instruments (tooth brushes, dental floss, interdental brushes, etc.) in order to fight unmineralized (plaque) and mineralized bacterial deposits (tarter)
Surgery is done when the tarter is too deep or in the case of anatomical defects. It can repair or regenerate bone lost over the course of an illness through the use ofbone filling materials and cellular derivatives or regeneration membranes.
