The Dental Clinic: Prosthetics and Implantology

Prosthetics

Designed to replace missing teeth, bridges or crowns in poor condition, today's prosthetics are made of innovative materials that are stronger and therefore last longer. Aesthetics are a priority, as we aim to improve your smile.

We use two types of prosthesis:

  • Partial resin prosthesis

It is composed exclusively of resin and has adapted metal attachments.

  • Full prosthesis

These are used where tooth is entirely absent. The tooth is replaced with a resin prosthesis which rests as much as possible on mucus membranes.

Implantology

New prosthetic and implant techniques offer wonderful aesthetic and functional results when teeth are missing. The replacement teeth have the look, feel, and function of natural teeth.

Replacing the root of the missing teeth, the implant (titanium screw) is inserted into the jawbone and acts as a support for the superstructure. The crown is then attached to this artificial root.

This technique makes it possible to:

  • replace individual teeth
  • fill in an empty space between teeth
  • complete a short dental arch
  • create a prosthesis for a jaw containing no teeth

Implants supporting bridges guaranteed better chewing without correcting neighboring healthy teeth, which considerably improves the dental prognosis in the long term.

For patients with no teeth, the dentist applies an Ackermann bar affixed to two or four implants, onto which a prosthesis is affixed using clamps inserted in the basal surface.
